Canal Street Inn Bed & Breakfast
A New Orleans bed and breakfast like no other, the elegant Canal Street Inn, with original historical architecture is located in the heart of Mid-City. We are located on world-famous Canal Street, the original dividing line between the European and American sectors of the city. Hop on the Canal Street streetcar line and take a convenient ride to the famous French Quarter, the Garden District, Audubon Zoo, Mercedes Benz Superdome, Magazine Street, Fairgrounds, Cemeteries, City Park and all the other wonderful New Orleans activities. The Inn offers ten guestrooms accommodations and a fulfilling breakfast. With Southern hospitality and charm the Canal Street Inn is your home away from home in New Orleans, LA while enjoying festivals; Mardi Gras, French Quarter Fest, Jazz Fest, Voodoo Fest, Tomato Festival, Food and Wine Event, Celebration in the Oaks, Satchemo Fest, Bayou Boogaloo and many more. Our home was built in 1912 by Mrs. Magdalena Holzer, the wealthy widow of a sheet metal baron (her portrait hangs in the foyer). The house was described in tax records at the time as “a single-story frame house” but is really a raised, center hall bungalow in a mixture of architectural styles ranging from Classical Revival to Victorian Riccoco to Arts and Crafts. Don’t forget to read about the house history as you sip a glass of our complimentary wine. OUR GARDEN The house is surrounded by gardens on all sides. The ancient live oak trees literally embrace the house, their branches swooping almost to the ground. The lush tropical foliage is interspersed with bright colorful flowers of each season. The sunken patio is the perfect place to enjoy a good book and a glass of wine as you watch streetcars lazily amble up and down Canal Street. Plan the perfect New Orleans B&B getaway vacation to our luxurious yet comfortable Inn located on Canal Street. NOT Available in February!
