Taj Mahal Indian Cuisine
Taj Mahal is closed on Tuesday and between 2:30 & 5:30 daily. Indian cuisine is one of the oldest known cuisines in the world and it is one of the most revered- served to heads of state, royalty, celebrities, and now, to you. The late Har G. Keswani and Anila Keswani opened Taj Mahal to bring Indian culture to New Orleans through food. Today, you can find Anila Keswani hovering in the restaurant, like her living room, greeting everyone with her jubilant heart, and making sure no one leaves hungry. After her husband’s passing in 1997, Anila and her son Anjay took over Taj Mahal and opened Nirvana Indian Cuisine in 1999 on Magazine St. Both Taj Mahal and Nirvana have private banquet rooms available for parties, though Taj Mahal’s private dining room is much more intimate. There is no such thing as a set in stone package at the Banquet Hall – no limitation to what your creativity can produce. Food options, bar setups, decoration schemes, and all the other details of your event are entirely customizable. You can even rent the space and fill it with your personal vision. Using the private room gives you access to Taj Mahal’s chefs, who expertly prepare a wide array of exquisite Indian dishes. However, you need not feel limited by what our restaurant has to offer. Large or small, lavish or simple and intimate, the banquet hall will personalize your party so it will fit your budget, your guest list, and your taste. We would like to invite you to come and see what we have to offer. We also offer catering services for offsite venues. Whether you need us to deliver and set up at a hotel, in your own home, at an office, or other location, we are happy to serve at any occasion. Taj Mahal offers pan pricing for large catering orders. These larger orders may be delivered at an additional cost.
